My seventh challenge was to raise money to donate to Sea Shepherd to help them with their campaign to save whales from Japanese whaling in the southern ocean. Our family always watches Whale Wars on Animal Planet and Iris and I thought how we could raise money for this.
Last summer Dad built a hen house and we got some hens at the start of the year. We had too many eggs so Iris and I thought we would sell some eggs and donate the money to Sea Shepherd to help them with their work.
Miss McLeod said she would buy a dozen eggs each week and also Mrs Noble said if we had extra eggs she would also buy them.
Iris and I have been responsible for feeding the hens and letting them out in the morning and putting them in their enclosure in the evening to keep them safe. During the day they live in our orchard and roam free.
Our hens are helping the whales!
