On the third of July, I went to a tumbling competition in Wanganui. It was the first time I have competed in tumbling. Although the excitement was running through my veins, I was nervous too.

When I got got to the gymnasium, we had to wait for a bit. It was a bit crazy because it wasn't very organised. I couldn't find my coach, I didn't know where my team was and it was all chaos. But then I got told that my team mates were finishing their trampoline competitions.

I watched them for a bit and sat down with them for the prize giving. They got a participation certificate and a prize! After the trampoline prize giving was over, there was the tumbling warm up.

I warmed up with the group doing things like round-off-flick-flacks. After that we warmed up while the general gymnasts finished their round. Then the competitive gymnasts were on.

I was competitive green, a higher level than blue because I had a flick-flack in my routine. My routine was: round-off-flick-flack, half jump turn, forwards roll, tuck jump.

After we performed them three times all we had to do was sit and wait for the tumbling prize-giving to start. I was so sure that all the older girls would get the medals. But then they announced in third place Rosa Hehir!

Up I stood on the third place stand smiling, wearing my bronze medal and holding my certificate! Second place goes to Racheal Davidson, and first with a good routine preformed by Sarah Davey. I couldn't believe I bet one of my older team mates that was a outstanding gymnast!

I was proud of myself for achieving this placing! I was so happy!
